In response to the squad, the world’s fastest bowler launched an attack on the entire PCB management, including the chairman, chief selector, and coach.
The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ spared no one in a video posted on his YouTube channel. His first casualty was PCB chief selector Mohammad Wasim, followed by coach Saqlain Mushtaq.
If the chief selector is average, his decision will be average as well. I don’t want to say this because Saqlain (Mushtaq) is a friend, but I don’t think he knows anything about T20 cricket. I don’t think this is your strong suit, Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.
After ripping through the decision-makers, the world’s fastest bowler went after Babar Azam, accusing him of being selfish and unfit for the format. Akhtar also stated that with this mediocre squad, he would not be surprised if Pakistan was eliminated in the first round.
Akhtar also advised Babar to stop being selfish and give up his opening slot for the sake of the team, instead promoting Fakhar Zaman, whose game was ideal for the Australian pitches inside the powerplay.
Unfortunately, this advice cannot be implemented because Fakhar Zaman is not even a member of the main squad.
Finally, Akhtar stated that failure of this team in the T20 World Cup 2022 could bring down the entire PCB management, including chairman Ramiz Raja.
