Hong Kong bowlers did well to keep Pakistan quiet for the majority of the innings, as they had done against India, before losing their way. Pakistan reached 64 for one in 10 overs, despite Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman (53 off 41) struggling to find the boundaries. Khushdil Shah hit a 15-ball 35 near the end to help Pakistan reach a big total. Babar Azam (9 off 8) suffered his second defeat in as many innings in the tournament.Pakistan annihilated Hong Kong, winning by a massive 155-run margin, and secured another date against India on September 4, Sunday. To begin, Hong Kong won the coin toss and chose to bow. Babar tried to accelerate by hitting an aerial shot over the bowlers’ heads, but instead hit straight back to spinner Ehsan Khan, who dived to his right to take a fine catch. Rizwan only found the ropes in the fifth over, when he squared cut medium pacer Ayush Shukla before guiding it to third man for back-to-back fours. Rizwan hit the first six of the innings in the 11th over, when he stepped out to leg-spinner Mohammad Ghazanafar and tonked it straight for a six.Fakhar was able to relieve some of Pakistan’s pressure by smashing the spinners for a couple of sixes in the cow corner region. After completing his half-century in the heat and humidity, Rizwan was able to shift gears. Due to a lack of experience in high-pressure situations, Hong Kong bowlers once again failed to deliver in the death overs, allowing Pakistan to score 77 runs off the final 30 balls. Aizaz Khan’s 20th over alone yielded 29 runs, including five byes and four sixes from Khushdil Shah’s bat.

Hong Kong couldn’t get going in their chase of 194, and Pakistan bowlers literally ran through them, bundling them out for 38 runs. Pakistan’s bowler of choice was Shahdab Khan (4/8).
