The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress Party have clashed over the issue of a “distorted” map of India that excludes parts of Kashmir. The controversy erupted after an international event showcased a map that did not include Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India. The BJP strongly condemned the map, accusing the Congress of being soft on national security and undermining the country’s territorial integrity.

The BJP labeled the map as an intentional distortion and accused Congress of being negligent in its stance on national borders, particularly with respect to Jammu and Kashmir, a region that has long been a point of contention between India and Pakistan. The party called for immediate clarification from Congress on the matter, asserting that the integrity of India’s borders should be protected at all costs.

On the other hand, Congress dismissed the BJP’s allegations, claiming the incident was a mere oversight and not a deliberate attempt to misrepresent India’s territorial boundaries. Congress leaders accused the BJP of politicizing the issue to gain electoral mileage. The party emphasized that India’s sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir remains unquestionable, and such disputes should be handled diplomatically rather than used as tools for political conflict.

The row highlights the ongoing tension between the two parties over issues related to national security and territorial disputes. While the BJP has consistently taken a hardline stance on Kashmir, emphasizing its integration into India, the Congress maintains a more moderate approach, stressing the need for dialogue and peaceful resolutions to issues concerning the region.

The clash over the distorted map has reignited the debate over Kashmir and its place in India’s political discourse, with both parties using the issue to rally support from their respective bases.
