The Prime Minister claims that the text, also known as the Modi ki Guarantee, is “more than just a collection of promises.” It describes the hopes and objectives that our country has as a whole.

The BJP has prioritised development and public welfare, restating its commitment to implementing “one nation, one election” and a pan-Indian Uniform Civil Code, two objectives that were also included in its 2019 platform. The manifesto was unveiled a few days after the results of the Lokniti-CSDS survey, which indicated that the main worries of the respondents were increasing costs and unemployment.

A dire image of the employment situation in the nation was also presented by the recently issued India Employment Report. The ruling party has promised this segment of the population “ample employment opportunities, quality housing and healthcare, and access to quality education” in an effort to hang onto the middle class, its tried-and-true support base.

To garner support from the impoverished, the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which provides free rations to over 80 crore individuals, is being pledged to be extended for a another five years. With an eye on a third consecutive term, the BJP has mostly refrained from offering incentives to win over supporters.

Additionally, it has made no mention of the contentious National Register of Citizens initiative, which was promised in the 2019 manifesto. The party has praised the “unprecedented” rise in the minimum support price (MSP) for major commodities in the agriculture sector, but it hasn’t addressed the primary demand of farm unions, which is a legislative guarantee of procurement at the MSP. Overall, the manifesto outlines a blueprint for India’s development into a developed country by 2047 while treading carefully.
