UP Warriorz needed 64 runs off the final four overs, and it appeared that another match would favour the team batting first. Grace Harris, an Australian all-rounder, had other ideas, scoring 59 off just 26 deliveries to help UP Warriorz chase down the total with a ball to spare.
The last-over thriller left fans in awe of the quality of cricket on display at the DY Patil stadium, and many felt that this was the type of match that the WPL needed to take giant strides to match the craze of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
We’ve only seen three WPL matches so far, but let’s hope that women’s cricket grows to be as popular as men’s cricket around the world.
