In July of this year, Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Minister of Law and Justice, informed the Rajya Sabha that there were more than 5 crore cases outstanding in different courts throughout the nation. 
    In August 2022, CJI NV Ramana described the massive backlog as an enormous challenge and stated that using contemporary technical tools like artificial intelligence could help find a solution. By only asking for adjournments when absolutely required, attorneys can help to mitigate the issue.
