Rajasthan congress government choosen CM Ashok gehlot has proved that the internal situation of party is not at all in a good position rather it is becoming more and more kind of battleground between the two factions of party loyalists of Sachin pilot and Ashok gehlot.u201cA gaddar (traitor) cannot be a Chief Minister,u201d the senior Congress leader told NDTV in an exclusive interview.
But this doesn’t mean that this first time when CM has made such terms like gaddar(traitor).In 2020, following Pilotu2019s rebellion, the Rajasthan CM had slammed Pilot calling him a u201cnikammau201d and a u201cnakarau201d (useless and worthless).Rajasthan faced a political crisis in September when about 90 party MLAs from the faction of Ashok Gehlot had skipped a Congress Legislature Party meeting where they were expected to pass a one-line resolution giving the party high command the right to pick the next CM u2013 said to have been Pilot u2013 as Gehlot was slated to contest for the post of Congress president. However, Gehlotu2019s loyalists had virtually engineered a rebellion, skipped the CLP meeting, and submitted their resignations to Rajasthan Speaker C P Joshi instead. Days later, Gehlot said he will not contest the Congress presidential election and also apologised to party president Sonia Gandhi for the crisis.Result of this political crisis brings another downturn to congress, on 16th of November 2022, Congress leader Ajay Maken has quit as the party’s Rajasthan in-charge. The thing which upset Mr Maken could be that no follow-up on show cause notices served to MLAs loyal to Mr Gehlot and no meeting of the Congress Legislature Party, or CLP, sources said.As of now only two states Chattisgarh and Rajasthan are states where congress party has majority. Due to internal politics congress already had lost in Madhya Pradesh even after having the majority.
