In the latest news from the Copa del Rey 2022-23, Real Madrid have won the title after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Osasuna in the final at the Estadio de La Cartuja on Saturday.
Real Madrid, who were without their injured captain Sergio Ramos, got off to a dream start when Marco Asensio scored a stunning goal in the 14th minute. Asensio picked up the ball on the edge of the box and curled a beautiful shot into the top corner, leaving Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera with no chance.

However, Osasuna responded well and equalized just before half-time, with Ruben Garcia scoring from the penalty spot after a foul by Real Madrid defender Nacho.
The second half was a tense affair, with both teams creating chances but unable to convert them. It looked like the game was headed for extra time, but Real Madrid managed to find a winner in the 84th minute, when Ferland Mendy scored with a powerful shot from just outside the box.
Osasuna pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but Real Madrid’s defense held firm, and they were able to see out the game to win their 20th Copa del Rey title.
Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, was pleased with his team’s performance, saying, It was a tough game, but we showed character and determination to win. Marco’s goal was incredible, and we deserved to win in the end.
Meanwhile, Osasuna’s manager, Jagoba Arrasate, was proud of his team’s efforts, despite the defeat, saying, We gave everything we had, but it wasn’t enough. Real Madrid are a great team, and they deserved to win.
With this victory, Real Madrid have won their first trophy of the season and will be looking to build on this success as they push for the La Liga title.
