The Delhi administration has started the process to carry out a significant administrative change after receiving the ruling’s imprimatur. The AAP administration has petitioned the Supreme Court, claiming that the Centre is delaying the transfer of the secretary of the Services Department, but the initial motion has run into difficulties.
The two governments should be careful not to trip on one other’s toes now that the court has clearly defined their separate responsibilities. The responsibility for ensuring that public works are carried out smoothly and on schedule falls on the CM and the L-G.

The AAP administration would be wise to put the needs of Delhi residents first while transferring and appointing personnel since it finds itself in a tricky situation due to the excise policy scandal. The national capital faces a plethora of civic difficulties, therefore development initiatives shouldn’t be hampered by vengeance politics. After all, Delhi is a crucial city for both the NCTD administration and the Centre.
