Light intensity rain/drizzle would occur over and adjoining areas of a few places in Delhi (Lajpat Nagar, Malviya nagar, Kalkaji, Tughlakabad, Chhattarpur, IGNOU, Ayanagar, Deramandi), the IMD said in a tweet.
Thunderstorm with heavy intensity rain would also occur over and adjoining areas of Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, Dadri, Ballabhgarh, Deoband, Muzaffarnagar, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Daurala, Meerut, and Modinagar in the next two hours, the weather department said at 07:45 AM.

The IMD has also predicted showers over Haryana’s Ganaur, Meham, Tosham, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Karnal, Assandh, Safidon, Panipat, Gohana, Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Palwal, Aurangabad, and Hodal.
Earlier on Monday, sunny skies turned overcast in Delhi by evening, with the maximum temperature settling at 32.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average. The Safdarjung observatory, which is considered the official marker for the national capital, recorded traces of rainfall, while some observatories like Ayanagar, Gurgaon, and Jafarpur recorded 1.2 mm, 4.5 mm and 8.5 mm of precipitation respectively between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm.

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 16.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average. The humidity levels oscillated between 41 per cent and 94 percent.
Action suggested due to rain, thunderstorm, lightning over Delhi-NCR. Due to rain in and around Delhi-NCR, the IMD said water logging may take place in low-lying areas, which could lead to traffic congestion and slippery roads. In view of rain, thunderstorm, and lightning, the Met Department suggested following traffic advisories.
