Shooting underwater is no small feat. The actors had to rehearse meticulously to ensure they could execute each shot perfectly within the limited time they could stay submerged. “If it’s a six-second shot, they need to rehearse it properly and do an exact six-second shot,” NTR Jr. explained The depth of the pool, which reached up to 18 feet, added another layer of complexity. “It’s not just swimming inside, it’s fighting and killing inside,” he added

One of the most challenging aspects was working without goggles, which made it difficult for the actors to see clearly. “I didn’t know where the camera was; I just knew it was somewhere there, but I couldn’t actually see it,” NTR Jr. recalled. This lack of visibility required the actors to rely heavily on their training and instincts.

Interestingly, water and fire were significant themes in NTR Jr.’s previous blockbuster, “RRR,” where water symbolized his character, Komaram Bheem, a freedom fighter. Reflecting on his experience, NTR Jr. noted that “Devara” pushed him even further. “That was my first underwater sequence ever,” he said, acknowledging the new challenges he faced in “Devara”

Despite the difficulties, NTR Jr. expressed pride in what the team achieved. “It was a complex but rewarding experience,” he said. The film, produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Koratala Siva, “Devara: Part 1” is set to hit theatres on September 27, 2024

The anticipation for “Devara: Part 1” is palpable, with fans eagerly awaiting the release. The film promises to be a visual spectacle, showcasing not only NTR Jr.’s acting prowess but also the incredible effort and dedication of the entire cast and crew

As the release date approaches, the revelations about the challenges faced during the underwater shoot have only heightened the excitement. NTR Jr.’s commitment to his craft and his willingness to push boundaries continue to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.
