The Governor is the appointing authority for the V-Cs. He is responsible if the appointments are illegal. Let the Governor think who should quit: he or the V-Cs. The Governor is acting at the behest of the Sangh Parivar. He is acting with a destructive mentality.u201d
Escalating this arguments Kerala government passed a bill to remove Governor Arif Mohammed Khan as the chancellor of the Kerala Kalamandalam deemed university by the state government on Thursday. Image credit: indian express. On 13th of December Kerala government passed a bill which states the appointment of vice chancellor by a committee consist of CM, opposition leader and assembly speaker. Now the vice chancellor can only be removed in case of misconduct or any other good and sufficient reason.First the opposition do supported the bill but later opposition also boycotted the assembly because their demand was not accepted by government. Opposition demanded to appoint vice chancellor must be a retire judge of SC OR HC. But the bill still needed assent from governor himself. To make the bill come into force the governor Arif Mohammed Khan has to approve it. What do you think will Arif Mohammed Khan give his assent to the bill? Or do we all going to see tussle between Khan and government on this issue as well?
