Since Musk ordered all Twitter employees to opt into staying for his very tough cultural reset, which resulted in almost 1,000 resignations last week, Monday’s all-hands meeting was the first time Twitter staff heard from Musk. The CEO answered questions from staffers for about 30 minutes from the company’s San Francisco headquarters. He said there are no plans to relocate Twitter to Texas, as he did with Tesla, but that it might make sense to have dual-headquartered offices in California and Texas. He recognized that the company’s ongoing restructuring will have a lot of missteps, but that it would stabilize with time. Musk further suggested that significant portions of the technology stack need to be rebuilt from scratch in response to a query from an employee. He also suggested during the same meeting that it would be a good idea to somewhat decentralize things by establishing engineering teams in Brazil, Japan, India, and Indonesia.
