Essar Energy Transition (EET) and SSE have partnered to develop a 40 MW green hydrogen facility at Essar’s Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in the UK. This facility aims to produce low-carbon hydrogen by leveraging renewable energy sources, aligning with the UK’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

    The new facility is a significant component of Essar’s broader energy transition strategy, which includes a commitment to investing $2.4 billion in various low-carbon energy projects over the next five years. It will be located within the HyNet North West industrial cluster, one of the UK’s leading hydrogen and carbon capture and storage projects. This collaboration between Essar and SSE will produce green hydrogen through water electrolysis powered by renewable electricity, reducing carbon emissions from industrial operations, transport, and power generation
