Despite the distressing incident, Hungary managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Scotland. Hungarian winger Roland Sallai dedicated the win to Varga, expressing the team’s determination to fight for their injured teammate. “It was a terrible moment to see Barnabas like that. We were fighting for him in the remaining minutes and we dedicate this win to him,” Sallai said.

The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) has assured fans that Varga is in stable condition and receiving the best possible care at a hospital in Stuttgart. The team and fans alike are hopeful for his swift recovery.

This incident has drawn comparisons to Christian Eriksen’s collapse during Euro 2020, highlighting the unpredictable and often dangerous nature of the sport. As Hungary progresses in the tournament, the team will undoubtedly feel the absence of their key striker but will continue to rally in his honor
