In order to enforce strict regulations and protect customers from any health dangers, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) monitors spices, culinary herbs, and other food items throughout the country.
But it is a poor reflection on the FSSAI’s regulatory framework that this initiative is based on US authorities’ rejection of some spice-related shipments in recent months, as well as recent bans by Singapore and Hong Kong on spice companies suspected of supplying tainted masalas and condiments.

In line with its responsibility to safeguard vulnerable users, the FSSAI has earlier examined baby formula products in response to the controversy around the high sugar level in infant foods.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) has taken a proactive step in addressing the issues surrounding food safety by deciding to use the knowledge of experts from government agencies, universities, and research institutes to strengthen its ability to assess and mitigate risks and, as a result, provide strong oversight of the food supply chain.

With the addition of fruits, vegetables, fish products, fortified rice, and milk products, the FSSAI hopes to address a wider range of issues related to the issue. By monitoring, testing, and enforcing regulations to alleviate worries about adulteration and contamination, the FSSAI may be more proactive in enhancing food safety and fostering consumer trust in India’s food sector.
