Former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka has officially parted ways with her coach, Wim Fissette. The split marks the end of a successful collaboration that began in 2019, during which Osaka achieved significant milestones, including her second US Open title in 2020 and her fourth Grand Slam victory at the Australian Open in 2021.

Fissette, a highly respected coach who has previously worked with top players like Kim Clijsters, Simona Halep, and Angelique Kerber, played a crucial role in Osaka’s development, helping her hone her game both mentally and physically. Under his guidance, Osaka became known for her powerful baseline game, resilience under pressure, and strong mental approach, all of which contributed to her rise as one of the most dominant players in women’s tennis.

The decision to part ways, however, appears to be amicable. Both Osaka and Fissette expressed gratitude for their time together and the successes they shared. In a statement, Fissette said, “It has been a privilege to work with Naomi and help her achieve some of her goals in tennis. I wish her all the best in her career moving forward.”

Osaka, who has been on a break from tennis after announcing her pregnancy in early 2023, has not revealed her future coaching plans or whether she intends to return to the tour in the near future. Fans are eager to see what’s next for the four-time Grand Slam champion as she navigates this new chapter in her life and career.

With Osaka’s immense talent and determination, many believe that she will continue to be a force in tennis, regardless of any changes to her coaching team.
