The pre-existing Dabolim Airport is operated by the Airport Authority of India as a civil enclave in an Indian Navy naval airbase named INS hansa.The newly inaugurated Mopa Airport is named after ex-defense minister and the ex-chief minister of the state late Mr. Manohar Parrikar. The foundation of the airport was laid in November 2016 and took 6 years to complete this indigenous international airport that has Goan culture influenced art and architecture.The airport has world class technology, including 5G-capable IT infrastructure and Stabil Road, Robomatic Hollow precast walls and 3-D Monolithic precast buildings.
