The Delhi batsmen scored 113 points in the first ODI, ending more than three years of drought at home. A few innings later he confirmed it with his second highest ODI score (his 166 unbeaten in his third ODI at Thiruvananthapuram).
Fans are delighted to see their beloved return with a top performance.
Even former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, who is said to have had a major run-in with the star batter during his tenure as chief of the Indian Cricket Board, was happy to see the batter regain his former mojo.
Relations between Ganguly and Kohli soured in 2021 when Ganguly was summarily sacked as Team India’s ODI captain by the selectors against his wishes.
It seems so long ago. The two greats of the game have come a long way since then. Ganguly is no longer the chairman of his BCCI and Kohli enjoys the freedom of being a hitter without the additional responsibility of managing the team.

Reacting to Kohli’s centuries-long streak of records, the former India captain said he was pleased to see the right-hander scoring one goal after another. He also said he was particularly pleased with the glow on the batter’s face.
u201cI am very pleased that he [Virat] has put together a century. We hope Starbatter continues to build his run ahead of the marquee tournament starting later this year.
