Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh launched a scathing attack on Warner, blaming him for DC’s poor performance this season. Harbhajan Singh stated after the Capitals’ 9-run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday that DC would have lost by 50 runs if Warner had played 50 balls, as all of them would have been wasted.
Harbhajan almost completely ruled out DC making a comeback from this position in a video on his YouTube channel. I don’t think they’ll be able to make a comeback, and the entire reason is captain. He didn’t lead the side well, and his form suffered as a result.
It’s been a huge letdown. Warner was sent off earlier today (vs. SRH), which is why Delhi came so close. If he had played 50 balls, he would have wasted 50 balls and DC would have lost by 50 runs, Harbhajan said in the video.
This season, Harbhajan was critical of Warner’s strike rate. Despite being one of the top scorers this season, Warner has amassed 306 runs in 8 games at an average of 38.5. However, his strike rate is only 118.60.

Even now, when he gives presentations, he mentions the mistakes of other players. But what exactly have you done? You lacked intent; you scored 300+ runs, but look at your strike rate. This year, Warner has not lived up to his reputation.
His 300 runs are useless to DC. Warner needs to look in the mirror if he wants to figure out why DC is at the bottom, Harbhajan continued. Harbhajan even suggested that the Delhi Capitals should give Axar Patel the captaincy going forward to set the right precedent for the future.
With only six games remaining in the IPL’s league stage, Delhi must win nearly all of them if they are to make the playoffs.
