He received congratulations on the special occasion from former cricketers and people from all walks of life when he turned 50 two days ago. On Wednesday, Tendulkar tweeted a special message of gratitude to them.
Yuvraj Singh, one of India’s greatest white ball players and a two-time World Cup champion, has been one of Tendulkar’s closest friends in the Indian locker room, and the legend serves as a life coach for him.
We had coaches when I played international cricket, but he was my ‘go-to’ man for any batting-related technical problems. Yuvraj recently said, He wasn’t just my cricketing idol; he offered solutions.
He acts as a guardian angel for me even beyond a distance of 22 yards. Paaji has always been one of the first people I have called in times of personal crisis or difficulty. He also always had the best life lessons and counsel to share with me, he said.
He recalled Tendulkar’s anxiety when, during the 2011 World Cup, which he single-handedly won for India with more than 350 runs and 15 wickets, he was frequently coughing and vomiting and experiencing sleepless nights.
