I’ve never liked the term retirement. It doesn’t strike me as a modern word. I’ve been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be careful how I use that word, which has a very specific and important meaning to a community of people, Serena said in a Vogue magazine article.
Serena has won the most Grand Slam singles titles of any player in the open era and the second-most of all time, trailing only Margaret Court’s 24.
