In reply, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma came out guns blazing, not changing his approach a single bit from the first two games. However, he got out after scoring 35 runs from just 20 deliveries. He departed after the dismissal of his deputy Shubhman Gill. Soon after, the whole team crumbled as Dunith Wellalage made the Men in Blue dance to his spinning tunes

The 21-year-old youngster picked up five wickets including the big scalps of skipper Rohit and batting sensation Virat Kohli. India were finally put out of their misery by a terrific performance by the spinners for 138 runs, winning the game by 110 runs

India have suffered their first series loss since Gautam Gambhir was appointed coach, while on the other hand, Sri Lanka have managed their first series win under Jayasuriya’s coaching
