In a strong message against any external military aggression along the border, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asserted that India never disturbed others and, at the same time, it will not spare those who attack the country. As part of the Gita Jayanti celebrations in Bengaluru, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) organised the month-long Gita Dana Yajna. According to Singh, India has never claimed even an inch of land from others.
Recalling the principles of dharma, Rajnath Singh, in an address to the devotees, said: u201cIndia has never favoured a war or violence in the past and now. At the same time, India cannot remain neutral to injustice and oppression (adharma). It is not in our nature.u201dThe minister outlined the events that led up to the Mahabharata conflict by stating, Lord Krishna delivered his lecture on dharma, karma, self-reliance, hard work, and reward on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, which all came to be known as Srimad Bhagwad Gita. The Gita is both everlasting and indivisible due to its contents. Anyone can overcome fear by reading the Gita and applying its teachings to their daily lives.On the event, luminaries including the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and his predecessor BS Yediyurappa were present. In addition to hosting events for individuals from all walks of life, Iskcon, Bengaluru, has chosen to distribute one lakh copies of the Gita during a month-long celebration of Gita Jayanti.
