    Smuggling Modus Operandi

According to STF officials, the accused smuggled charas from Nepal into India in small quantities to evade detection at the border. They would conceal the contraband in forested areas before aggregating it for distribution. Their primary clients were located in Delhi and Gautam Buddh Nagar.

    Intended Distribution

The suspects disclosed that a regular client, known only as ‘Mishra’ from western Uttar Pradesh, had placed an order for approximately six kilograms of charas intended for New Year celebrations. The delivery was scheduled for late December; however, the STF apprehended the smugglers before the transaction could occur.

    Broader Implications

This operation highlights the ongoing challenges posed by drug smuggling networks operating between Nepal and India. The STF’s intervention not only prevented a substantial quantity of narcotics from reaching urban centers during the festive season but also provided critical intelligence on the smuggling routes and methods employed by these networks. Authorities are continuing investigations to dismantle the broader nexus involved in such illicit activities.
