The government of Justin Trudeau has disregarded the travel warning, asserting that Canada is among the safest nations in the world. Ottawa’s assurances, though, appear to be woefully disconnected from reality.
The Maple Country is undoubtedly not a safe place for individuals of Indian descent when Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a designated terrorist and the leader of the outlawed pro-Khalistan organisation Sikhs for Justice, openly threatens Indo-Canadian Hindus and tells them to return to India.
An Indian-Canadian politician from PM Trudeau’s party, Chandra Arya, has rightfully denounced the nation’s celebration of terrorism and hate crimes against Hindus in the name of freedom of expression. By charging Pannun with attempting to sever relations between the Hindu and Sikh communities in Canada, he has hit the nail on the head.Even if the MEA characterized Trudeau’s accusations as politically motivated, it is Canada’s responsibility to inform India about the investigation into the Nijjar case.

Indians make up the majority of international students in Canada, therefore the latter would be wise to put their safety first.
