IPL franchises spend massively in the mini auction

All records have been broken but the auction continues. Most expensive player-Chris Morris who was sold for INR 16.25 Cr to Rajasthan Royals in 2021 has been surpassed by young Sam Curran and Cameron Green. Sam Curran was signed by Punjab Kings for a whopping Rs. 18.5 crore at the IPL 2023 auction in Kochi on Friday. He is now the most expensive player ever in the IPL. Curranu2019s base price was Rs 2 crore. This price tag has been put on him after his T20 World Cup heroics in which he was also the ‘Player of the tournament’.Cameron Green was signed by Mumbai for a whopping amount of Rs 17.50 crore , becoming the second most expensive player in the IPL. The bidding for the Australia player started at Rs 2 crore between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. The price shot past Rs. 7 crore in no time. The most crowned team of the league made the purchase to replace their star all-rounder of over the years-Keiron Pollard.
