The case holds connection to the money laundering case of Rs.200 crore involving con man Sukesh Chandrashedkhar.According to attorney Vikram Chauhan, 15 other media outlets are included in the defamation lawsuit and will likely be questioned about this at the hearing scheduled for December 19th.The complaint read, u201cThe complainant has a pristine reputation apart from a rapidly progressing career which has quite obviously threatened her rivals who are unable to compete with her on fair footing.u201dFernandez made the false statement in bad faith and with mala fide intention, and the media outlets named in the case circulated it widely with the intention of slandering Fatehi, the attorney claimed.The complaint claimed that the allegations made by Fernandez that Fatehi received gifts from Chandrashedkar were wrong.The only time Fatehi spoke to Chandrashedkar was through a speaker phone call set up by Chandrashedkhar’s wife Leena Maria Paul at an event in Chennai. She also made it clear in the complaint that she never received any gifts directly from Chandrashedkar. Leena gave the complainant an iPhone and a Gucci purse at that occasion.The complaint stated that the allegation made by Fernandez and the subsequent publication of the same by the accused media houses are inaccurate because the complainant has never spoken to Chandrashedkhar, much less met him.
