Mr Jasprit Bumrah underwent successful lower back surgery in New Zealand and is now pain-free. The specialist advised the fast bowler to begin his rehab six weeks after surgery, and Mr Bumrah began his rehab management at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on Friday, the BCCI said in a statement.
The board also provided an update on batter Shreyas Iyer’s recovery, stating that the 28-year-old will have lower back surgery next week and will begin rehab at the NCA two weeks later.
Mr Shreyas Iyer is scheduled to have surgery next week for a lower back problem. He will be under the surgeon’s care for two weeks before returning to the NCA for rehabilitation, the statement continued.

Iyer, on the other hand, was forced to miss the entire white-ball series against New Zealand as well as the first Test against Australia due to a lower back injury. He rejoined the squad for the second Test in Delhi, only to be forced to withdraw midway through the fourth and final match due to the same problem.
While Iyer is already out of the WTC final, it will be interesting to see if Bumrah will be fully fit for the main event.
