Khar Gymkhana president Vivek Devnani confirmed the decision, stating, “The honorary three-year membership given to Ms. Jemimah Rodrigues was revoked pursuant to a resolution passed by the members who attended the general meeting held on October 20, 2024.”
Jemimah Rodrigues, who became the first Indian female cricketer to receive honorary membership at the club in 2023, has not yet commented on the development. The club’s managing committee member Shiv Malhotra expressed concern over the nature of these gatherings, describing them as involving music, dancing, and large screens.
The cancellation of Jemimah’s membership has sparked a debate on social media, with fans expressing their support for the talented cricketer and questioning the club’s decision.
