Kantara surpassed the behemoth Baahubali 2 to establish the record for the greatest 5th week at the Indian film industry. The film grossed approximately Rs. 65 crores in its fifth week, a dip of less than 10% from the previous week, compared to Rs. 40 crores for Baahubali 2. The film’s total ticket sales earnings have surpassed Rs. 275 crores, and it is rapidly approaching the Rs. 300 crores milestone and beyond. It has surpassed the triple century mark worldwide, with $3.50 million from overseas for a worldwide box office gross of approximately Rs. 303 crores.
Even after five weeks, there is no telling where the picture will end up, with the fifth week decreasing less than 10% from the last week, which was helped by the Diwali festivities on weekdays. It will easily surpass Rs. 300 crores, and most possibly Rs. 350 crores, surpassing Ponniyin Selvan to become India’s third-highest grosser of the year.Kantara has reached Rs. 150 crores in Karnataka, being only the second film in history to do so after KGF 2. It is currently only Rs. 22 crores away from becoming the highest grossing, which it is quite likely to do. Before the beginning of the year, this was unthinkable that any film would even come close to, much alone beat, KGF 2 in Karnataka, but this movie has done the unthinkable.In other news, the film’s Bollywood version grossed Rs. 23.50 crores in its third week, bringing the total to Rs. 59 crores.
