Kartik Aaryan, who will star in Aashiqui 3, has said that he grew up watching ‘the timeless classic Aashiqui.’ Anurag Basu will helm the third instalment of the successful franchise Aashiqui. The female actress has yet to be revealed. Kartik also described himself as a huge fan of Anurag in a new interview.

Mahesh Bhatt directed Aashiqui (1990), which was produced by T-Series and Vishesh Films. The primary actors were Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. Aashiqui 2, directed by Mohit Suri and starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, resurrected the franchise in 2013. It was also a box office hit.
Kartik told Variety, The timeless classic Aashiqui is something I grew up watching, and working on Aashiqui 3 seems like a dream come true. I feel honoured and happy to have worked with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt on this project. I’ve always admired Anurag Basu’s work, and working with him on this project will undoubtedly influence me in many ways.
Aashiqui and Aashiqui 2 were feelings for the fans that have lingered in hearts to this day, Anurag said of the new project. The goal is to carry the legacy forward in the greatest possible way. It’d be my first collaboration with Kartik Aaryan, who is recognised for his passion, tenacity, and determination in his work, and I’m really looking forward to it.
