Residents reported enduring daily power cuts lasting 8-10 hours and receiving high electricity bills, despite the Delhi government’s claims of providing free power. In response, LG Saxena announced the initiation of a cleanliness drive, which he intends to personally monitor, to ensure residents receive basic services. He urged former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and current Chief Minister Atishi to visit these areas and take immediate steps to improve the situation.

Arvind Kejriwal responded by expressing gratitude towards the LG for identifying these shortcomings. He assured that the issues pointed out would be addressed promptly, including fixing potholes on the Nangloi-Mundka road and cleaning the areas visited by the LG. Kejriwal welcomed further feedback from the LG to resolve any additional issues.

This exchange occurs amid the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections, where the party has been showcasing its achievements over the past decade, such as the revamp of government schools and mohalla clinics. Meanwhile, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized AAP for neglecting sanitation issues in the national capital.

The interaction between the LG and Kejriwal underscores the ongoing challenges in Delhi’s urban management and the need for collaborative efforts to enhance living conditions for its residents.
