The Congress was ahead of the 224-seat assembly by roughly 120 at the time this piece was being written. Since April 14’s Ambedkar Jayanti, the AICC president has not left his home state for 26 days. The elderly man frequently worked into the night, according to party authorities. Kharge, a seasoned campaigner, took the initiative and organised exhausting trips and lengthy strategic meetings.

For the first time in decades, the Congress was able to reveal its initial list of party nominees 45 days before the election as a consequence of shrewd planning and political scheming. It is important to note that several AICC working groups and panels, including those led by AK Antony, K Karunakaran, PA Sangma, Veerappa Moily, Sam Pitroda, Digvijaya Singh, and others, have already stressed the need of selecting party nominees in advance.
Kharge had a hefty workload as the president of the Congress. During the distribution of the tickets, there was a lot of justice, objectivity, and rational reasoning used to quell dissension. Kharge promoted a professional approach by asking the stakeholders to gather arguments for or against a certain constituency or candidate, as opposed to passionate outbursts or behind-the-scenes manoeuvring, whenever the central leadership or the state satraps disagreed. This assisted in lowering the overall rebel population this time around.

In his own unique way, Kharge was able to win over everyone. The Gandhi family of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi actively aided him. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were wisely used by Kharge to calm internal unrest that may have otherwise erupted.
Considering how the Congress fared in the Karnataka elections, Kharge’s future appears to be much more secure and fruitful. He would also be the first president of the Congress party since Indira Gandhi to win an election in their home state.
Sitaram Kesri (Bihar), Sonia Gandhi (Uttar Pradesh), and Rahul Gandhi (Uttar Pradesh) could never have dreamed of winning an assembly election in their home states, although Rajiv Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao had worried away power during their presidential terms.
