The accused, Hemanth Dutt allegedly stored the body in his house for four days before burning it near a railway station. Police sources said that Hemanth had recently placed an order for a second-hand iPhone on an e-commerce portal. When the delivery executive arrived at the residence of the accused, the latter stabbed him with a knife as he did not have the money to pay for the phone.

    Datta had ordered the iPhone from Flipkart and was supposed to pay Rs 46,000 upon delivery. On February 7, when Naik came to deliver the phone, Datta asked him to open the box. However, Naik refused to do so and told him if he opens it, he will not be able to take it back and asked Datta to pay for the phone.
    After Naik went missing, his brother Manjunath Naik filed a missing complaint on February 8. The police started tracking Hemanth Naiku2019s mobile phone and found that it was last located at Dattau2019s residence. A team of police officials raided Dattau2019s house and found Hemanthu2019s mobile phone and other articles. The case is now handed over to judical custody.
