I need to calm down and restart, Nikhat stated to PTI. Nikhat, on the other hand, had to overcome not only her young 21-year-old opponent, but also a raucous home crowd, and she described the bout as her biggest hurdle in the field. Nikhat will compete for gold against Northern Ireland’s Carly McNaul.

This was probably my most difficult challenge here. As a hometown favourite, she (Stubley) was expected to perform admirably. She’s a promising young boxer, and it’s satisfying to win She stated. Yes, there was pressure because I knew she would have the most fans in the audience. So aake jitna badi baat thi mere liye (beating her in front of my home crowd is a big deal for me).
Nikhat had sparred with Stubley a few times at training, so she was familiar with her game. She has also sparred with her final opponent Carly in preparation for the CWG.

I was familiar with her style, but she also had a good idea of who I was. I simply had to give it everything I had. I’m just looking forward to my final fight against Carly McNaul of Northern Ireland The 26-year-old explained. When asked how she would rate her CWG performance, Nikhat stated: Being a world champion is the highest honour for me. Sab ki jagah alag hai (every medal has its own significance). It’s as if I can’t keep my parents apart, and both, dad and mom, are equal.
