The Mumbai Indians and the Lucknow Super Giants clashed in a thrilling encounter during the IPL 2024 and one incident that stood out was Arjun Tendulkar leaving his over incomplete after being scared off by Nicholas Pooran.

The incident took place in the 19th over of the Super Giant’s innings when Pooran was in full flow. Tendulkar, who was making his IPL debut, was bowling from the Pavilion End and had just completed his third delivery of the over when Pooran hit him for a huge six over long-on.

The next delivery was a short ball from Tendulkar which Pooran pulled with great force. The ball was heading towards the boundary and Tendulkar seemed to be in a good position to field the ball but suddenly pulled out at the last moment, leaving the ball to hit the boundary unchallenged.
The crowd at the venue was stunned as Tendulkar’s reaction was something unexpected. Soon after, social media was abuzz with trolls and memes targeting the young bowler.
Many fans claimed that Tendulkar had been scared off by Pooran’s aggressive batting and that he lacked the courage to take on the West Indian batsman.
“Arjun Tendulkar is a timid bowler who cannot handle the pressure of T20 cricket. He was scared off by Pooran and let his team down,” tweeted one fan.
“Arjun Tendulkar is the biggest disappointment of this IPL season. He needs to work on his courage and mental strength,” said another.
The young bowler’s debut has not gone as per plan for Mumbai Indians and it remains to be seen if he can bounce back in the remaining matches of the tournament.
