These organisations filled the Internet with congratulatory comments as others affected by the violence attempted to pick up the pieces, disregarding the crackdown that would probably ruin many local families whose young members have been detained.

Given that social media is now a significant instrument for promoting hatred across international borders, the appearance of the Pakistani hand is not surprising. The Nuh provocation was intended to cause a devastating firestorm.
The Islamist Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) agitated against then-PM Imran Khan in 2021 because he had turned against the Generals. The ISI, which continues to send armed men across the border into India, used social media to track down its opponents.
The ISI has worked with the TLP to incite anti-Indian sentiment in the Maldives, where the consequences was seen last year when a crowd disrupted the Indian High Commission’s Yoga Day celebration in Male. While Kashmir has remained a constant target, this is not the only place where this has occurred.

The ISI has continued to coddle terrorists in order to further its foreign policy objectives in Afghanistan and India. The explosion in Bajaur, which killed over 60 people, was the most recent blowback. Even more chaotic than the Hafiz Saeeds and Azhar Masoods are social media. If they are not already doing so, the same groups have the ability to stoke the fires of hatred in Pakistan as well. Furthermore, Pakistan’s offer of an olive branch to India while these evil deeds are ongoing stinks of hypocrisy.
