In his speech, he said, If gas cylinders become expensive, these will become cheaper again. He says if inflation goes up, it will come down, and people will get employment too. But what if Bangladeshi Rohingyas start living around you, like in Delhi?  Rawal goes on and asks, What will people do with gas cylinders? Cook fish for Bengalis?
When this speech sparked controversy on the internet, Paresh Rawal quickly responded to clarify and apologize for the speech. He tweeted, Of course, the fish is not the issue, as Gujaratis do cook and eat fish. But let me clarify that by Bengali, I meant illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingya. However, if I have offended your feelings or sentiments, please accept my apologies.Despite his apology and clarification, CPI-M leader Mohammed Salim stated that the party had filed a police report against Paresh Rawal for allegedly spreading hate speech at a rally in Gujarat. Such a speech in the public domain has been made to provoke riots, destroy the harmony between the Bengali community and other communities across the country, and cause public mischief, the complaint stated.Even though Paresh Rawal apologized for his speech, as a senior BJP member, he must clearly look at and take note of what he is saying, as whatever he says will have some impact on a large number of people listening to him.Comment down your views.
