On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Chief Justice DY Chandrachud’s laudatory proposal that Supreme Court decisions be made available in all regional languages. The chief justice stressed the use of technology to help the courts reach out to citizens throughout India when he spoke at an event in Mumbai on Friday. He stated that the next step… is to provide translated copies of the Supreme Court judgements in every Indian language.
    At a recent event, the Honorable Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud, mentioned the necessity of working to make Supreme Court decisions available in regional languages. He also recommended using technology to do it. This is a commendable idea that will benefit many people, especially young people, the prime minister tweeted with a video of the CJI’s remarks.Modi praised his government’s many attempts to support Indian languages, including offering the choice of studying subjects like engineering and medicine in one’s Matru Bhasha (mother tongue) and noted that India has several languages… which add to our cultural richness.He has previously emphasised the importance of courts using their native tongues.
