The 23-year-old all-rounder led the Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack with two impressive overs in which he got the ball to move into the right-handed batters early in the innings.
He gave up 17 runs while not taking a wicket. KKR batter Venkatesh Iyer hit him for a six and a four, and he went on to score his first IPL century later in the innings.
Following his debut, Arjun and his illustrious father Sachin became the first father-son pair to feature in the 15-year history of the IPL, and that too for the same side, after being spotted during the team’s training session on Saturday ahead of the game and also in the team dugout on Sunday.

Sachin spent six years with the Mumbai Indians, from 2008 to 2013. Arjun was selected for the first time by the five-time IPL champions during the 2021 auction at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
While the Wankhede Stadium is the home ground for Arjun and the Mumbai Indians, the young cricketer has moved to Goa in the second half of 2022 in search of regular playing time on the domestic circuit.
