Ranveer Singh claimed on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan 7 that he was rejected from Bombay Velvet because his market value wasn’t up and he couldn’t make money when compared to Ranbir Kapoor. And now, Anurag Kashyap, the filmmaker, has spoken about how Ranveer was not embraced by the industry at the time, and how he is now working with the same people.Anurag described the industry as strange, stating that after a long period, Ranveer confessed that he was offered the film but was eliminated from the project because he would not be able to earn enough mobile revenue. Interestingly, he is making movies with the very same people from the industry. So it’s not like that. This industry is a weird place. – Anurag KashyapWhen Ranveer was informed that he would be replaced by Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay Velvet, Karan Johar reacted by accusing him of nepotism and promoting his star kids in the industry, but quality makes its way, and the classic example is Ranveer and Deepika Padukone. During the episode, Ranveer and Alia Bhatt were both asked if they had ever been rejected for a part, to which the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress responded that she had never been rejected, and Ranveer let his heart out and stated, I was not rejected, K (Karan Johar). I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time I couldnu2019t justify the budget. My star value wasnu2019t high. But things have changed, he said confidently. Ranveer Singh is currently one of the most successful actors; his market value is equivalent to that of star boy Ranbir Kapoor, and he achieved this on his own. Currently, the actor is working on Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty. Along with Alia, he will appear in Ricky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, directed by Karan Johar himself.
