Should India take harsh steps, or are we as a nation strong enough to fight the new variant? Let us find out.
A new COVID outbreak with serious cases and hospitalisation is reportedly unlikely because Indians have the benefit of hybrid immunity, which is inherent immunity against infection boosted by vaccination.
Former AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria remarked in an interview with PTI, The number of Covid cases has not increased, and things are good for India right now. There is no reason to enforce a lockdown or limit international flights given the current situation.
He used the failure of earlier aircraft restrictions in India to stop the spread of infection as an example. Additionally, according to the expert, the results indicate that the Omicron sub-variant BF.7 has already been discovered in our nation.
Further inquiry was made of Dr. Guleria regarding the possibility of a lockdown in the upcoming days. There does not appear to be a necessity for a lockdown, he retorted, Considering the existing circumstances and a good degree of hybrid immunity in the population.
