Rishi Sunak, the newly appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has approved at least 3000 visas per year that allow young professionals from India to work in the United Kingdom.
    The migration and mobility partnership between the United Kingdom and India was established the previous year. According to the government of the United Kingdom, this partnership is robust, and India is the first vision-national country to benefit from it.
    Under the new UK-India young professional schemes, the United Kingdom will make available, on an annual basis, 3,000 work visas to citizens of India between the ages of 18 and 30 who have earned degrees and who wish to work in that country for a maximum of two years. It will operate on the principle of mutual benefit.The news broke hours after Sunak’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the 17th G20 summit, which was held in Bali, the capital of Indonesia. Over a quarter of all foreign students in the UK come from India, and Indian investments in the country have supported 9500 jobs nationwide. It is worth mentioning here that India and the UK are also negotiating a trade agreement. If the deal gets approved, it will be the first of its kind that India has made with a European nation.
