Bengaluru won 1-0, although there were a lot of unanswered doubts, particularly surrounding the goal’s legality.
What specifically happened first?
Bengaluru FC received a free kick in Kerala Blasters’ territory in the sixth minute of the first overtime period after referee Crystal John blew for a foul on Chhetri. The point where the kick was to be made was sprayed by the referee (seen in replay film), but he did not continue to measure out the 10 yards for the wall.
Source: NNIS Sports NewsWhile the Blasters erected their wall, Chhetri stood over the ball while Adrian Luna blocked his attempts to take a quick free kick. When Luna moved back a yard and the referee appeared to speak with Chhetri, Chhetri saw an opening and decided to take a fast free kick, hitting the ball into the top corner as Prabhsukhan Gill in the Blasters goal watched on and looked unprepared. The Kerala Blasters left the field at the conclusion of the match, and Bengaluru FC was given the victory.
