Pakistan captain Babar Azam scored a match-winning fifty against New Zealand in the semi-finals, regaining the No. 3 spot. Meanwhile, his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan remains second after Suryakumar.
Alex Hales of England, who smashed an unbeaten 86 from 47 deliveries in the semifinal against India, jumped 22 places to No. 12.
Hales, who returned to international cricket after a three-year absence, finished the T20 World Cup as England’s second-highest run-scorer, with 212 runs at an average of 42.40. In 2022, he has 430 T20I runs at an excellent average of 30.71 and a strike rate of 145.27.
Babar Azam and Rilee Rossouw are two other batters who have advanced to the top 10. South Africa’s Rossouw moved up to seventh, while New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips dropped to eighth. Rossouw had a spectacular century against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup.
Mohammad Rizwan, Devon Conway, and Aiden Markram are the other batters in the top five, in addition to Suryakumar and Babar. Rizwan and Markram have managed to hold on to second and fifth place, respectively, while Conway has dropped to fourth after losing his third place to Babar.
Adil Rashid has risen to the top of the bowling rankings following his outstanding performances in the semifinals against India and the final against Pakistan. Rashid finished the two matches with figures of 1/20 and 2/22, climbing five spots to No. 3.
After a Player of the Match performance of 3/12 in the final against Pakistan, his compatriot Sam Curran moved up two spots to No. 5. Wanindu Hasaranga is the highest-ranked bowler, followed by Rashid Khan. Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Nabi, and Hardik Pandya continue to be the top three all-rounders in the rankings.
