According to proponents of the bioweapon theory, Covid-19 was a sort of rehearsal by China before facing the West. Some go to the level of suggesting that this version of corona was genetically designed to target certain groups of population. Despite access to the best medical facilities, they point to numerous infections and fatalities in Europe and the US.The Wuhan Institute of Virology’s BSL-4 laboratory is one of China’s research initiatives to examine both man-made and purely natural epidemics. The US State Department brought up the subject of China participating in biological operations with possible dual-use applications in its 2021 annual report. Concerns regarding transfers of dual-use products from Chinese entities to Iranian government entities were also expressed by the US.

China has consistently argued that it opposes the development and use of bioweapons for military purposes because it was a victim of Japanese bio-agents used during World War Two.
Yet, there is no proof that Covid-19 is a Chinese bioweapons test. Some Chinese even reverse the claim that the US Army was responsible for bringing the coronavirus into Wuhan and turning it into the epicentre, which is unfounded once more.

Whatever the case, China has had lab breaches before. A few instances include the SARS leak from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2004 and the brucellosis outbreak caused by an accident at the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute in 2019. This view is supported by the Chinese leadership’s recent emphasis on enhancing lab safety in the wake of the current outbreak.
It is crucial to learn the truth regarding the causes and spread of pandemics. If a lab leak was the cause, then lab safety needs to be enhanced everywhere, not just in China. Beijing is responsible if a bioweapon used by China caused the outbreak and its spread. If the dissemination was intended to benefit China politically and economically, China deserves harsh punishment. If the Chinese government’s utter laziness was the cause of the spread, it owes the entire world an apology. One of these four statements is true. All of them, however, indicate that we must pay close attention to and take meaningful action on our understanding of China.
