Some started making money out of the topic by just posting some irrelevant information on 30sec reels or YouTube shorts. But the taboo topic is still not getting recognized as needed.
The taboo topic is Sex education. Even though we have access to information in a single click but that single click is not always true. The source of gathering the information matter. India is known as a diabetes hub, malnutrition is the problem but the good thing is this problem is known to us. We know that they needed to be tackled. But do we know about sexually transmitted diseases (STD)?
Let’s just know about STD, what it can cause and how it is attacking India. All the stats are quotes from nhp.gov.in.What is STD?sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are infections that spread primarily through person-to-person contact. How harmful is it? These complications and sequelae include infertility, fetal wastage, ectopic pregnancy, anogenital cancer, and premature death, as well as neonatal and infant infections. Is the Indian population prone to it?STI/RTIS (reproductive tract infections) are an important public health problem in India. A community-based STI/RTI prevalence study conducted during 2002-03 by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has shown that 6% of the adult population in India has one or more STI/RTI. Occurrence This amounts to about 30-35 million episodes of STI/RTI every year in the country. So the number is not small India is affected by it very badly. But not a single major initiative from the government nor by any other Indian institution is seen. Recently concerned about the youth of France country their government has started to make condoms available for young people (age 18-20) free of cost. It is not possible in India but what India needed is awareness people need to be aware of this topic.STDs can be tackled very easily if people are given information on how not to get infected by it. Besides not knowing about the STD, if a person is affected by it the person may not even know about it and may infect his/her partner as well. If a person is infected we all know how people feel insecure to tell someone about their genital health. Also, authentic professionals are not found in India all that Indian people seek help from are some random baba whose poster can be seen on public toilets, etc. What do you think? What one person should do in such a problem? How should the government deal with this issue?
