They bowl in completely different ways, but Arshdeep Singh appreciates Umran Malik’s terrifying pace because it forces batters to constantly react to the stark contrast in their distinct speeds.
Along with Englishman Mark Wood and South African Anrich Nortje, to mention a couple, the Jammu pace phenomenon often bowls at 150 clicks, making him one of the quickest bowlers in the history of cricket.
Arshdeep is primarily a swing bowler and, when in rhythm, averages around 130 kph. In the opening match in Auckland against New Zealand, both IPL players made their ODI debuts, and the Punjab player wants the connection to last forever.
Before the 3rd and final ODI vs New Zealand on Wednesday, Arshdeep remarked, It is always fantastic to bowl with Umran and he is also playful so the dressing room vibe remains positive. As far as bowling is concerned, I get a lot of benefit from Umran’s bowling as batters need to adjust heavily from 155 kmph to 135 kmph. And they get deceived by pace and we enjoy bowling with each other. I expect we are able to continue this partnership for longest time, he said.Arshdeep doesn’t want to make much changes when playing the 50-over format because he gained notoriety in T20Is.
In T20Is, I bowl offensively in the opening overs and defensively in the closing frames. Not much changed for me in ODIs, and whenever I get the chance, I’ll do my best.Comment down below.
