The Trump administration is hoping it will invigorate the Republican campaign. Vance, who is close to Trump’s eldest son, is seen to be the one who will most likely carry on his ideological legacy once he wins a second term.

Vance is a multifaceted individual who has served in the Marine Corps, graduated from Yale Law School, and is a successful venture entrepreneur. His populist conservatism, which rejects many traditional Republican viewpoints, has made him a key figure in the New Right movement. In his best-selling memoir Hillbilly Elegy from 2016, Vance detailed a childhood marked by abuse and poverty.

For Trump, this background gives him a real connection to White working-class voters, particularly those in the Rust Belt battleground states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Moreover, Vance is in a unique position to draw in donations from Silicon Valley.

Vance’s Yale classmate Vivek Ramaswamy, a former Republican presidential contender, suggested that this would be the most formidable political ticket of his life. Usha Chilukuri, Vance’s wife and the daughter of Indian immigrants, is also a Yale graduate, and she would concur.
